What wasn’t working.
AZCorp had a growing number of internal processes that depended on manual decisions, repeated checks and conditional routing. As volume grew, the team spent too much time deciding how each request should be handled, and existing tools were either too rigid or needed workarounds that made the process harder to maintain.

What we did, one working step at a time.
We designed and built a rule engine that lets the team define, update and manage business logic in a structured way. Instead of hard-coding every decision, rules are set around request type, priority, user attributes, routing conditions and escalation.
The paper trail they kept.
AZCorp moved a large part of its decisioning into the rule engine. Manual work dropped, outcomes became consistent across the team, and rule updates went from a 2–3 day turnaround to the same day.
The custom rule engine gave us control over a process that had become too manual and inconsistent. It made the workflow easier to manage, easier to explain, and much easier to improve over time.
